“There is also occasional use of racist and discriminatory language.“Scenes include marijuana smoking, heroin preparation, and references to drug dealing and misuse.
Pride That particular scene left a bad taste in my mouth, but I enjoyed the rest of the movie too much to let that be a huge detractor. Guy Ritchie deliciously returns to the slimy underworld of slimy Brit gangsters, a modern day Shakespere no less, a film filled with likeable lowlifes who mouth quotable damnations dedicated to utter destruction. Just leave us a message Please reference “Error Code 2121” when contacting customer service. It may not win writer-director Guy Ritchie many new converts, but for those already attuned to the filmmaker's brash wavelength, You're almost there! For myself, this one just happened to work for me, more than any of his previous original work. Binge Central 1:09 “Audio is heard from a video implying a man was forced into performing sexual acts with a pig, but there is no visual detail.”As the film is set around gangsters and drug kingpins, much of this behaviour would be expected, and there is some very strong language to be aware of.With the film being an 18, it is for adults only, meaning parents of older teenagers may find it tricky to stop their 18-year-olds from attending the movie. However, parents who want to ensure they can keep an eye on what their kids are watching may wish to also see the film, so as to facilitate any good conversations about particular moments which may have been difficult to watch.READ MORE: Best films of 2019: Which are the Top 10 movies of 2019?The Gentlemen stars Matthew McConaughey as Mickey Pearson, an American with an enviable marijuana empire whose decision to leave the business triggers schemes from all over London to try and oust him.Charlie Hunnam is Raymond, Mickey’s closest confidante and employee, while Michelle Dockery plays Mickey’s wife, Rosalind.Henry Golding is Dry Eye, an up and coming gangster, while Jeremy Strong plays Matthew Berger, a potential buyer for Mickey’s business.READ MORE: Netflix movies in 2020: The BEST movies to come to Netflix in 2020With stars like this, fans will certainly be impressed to go along and watch The Gentlemen.Eddie Marsan is Mike, Colin Farrell plays Coach, whose young lads find themselves inexplicably mixed up in Mickey’s business, and Hugh Grant is the sleazy paparazzi and gotcha reporter Fletcher.Rapper Bugzy Malone also features in the film as one of Coach’s boxers who gets accidentally entangled in the business of Mickey’s marijuana deal, along with a group of his mates. Colin Farrell has some amusing moments but should have been the main character as a boxing trainer who takes a shine to try and reform local hoodlums. It's like Ritchie doesn't know when to walk away from his own party. From Matthew McConaughey to Charlie Hunnam (who is fantastic in this role), Colin Ferrell to Henry Golding, and the rest of the endless talent, The Gentlemen is an embarrassment of riches when it comes to the talent on-screen.
